PROGRAMS-WHOLE DAY TRIPS
A visit to Plitvice Lakes
Southwords, driving about 2 hours, we'll arrive at a UNESCO-protected National Park, Plitvice Lakes. The Plitvice Lakes National Park comprises a fairytale landscape of lakes set in forests, with the streams, cascades, falls and rainbows you'll never forget. The sightseeing lasts about 3 to 4 hours, after there's lunch in one of the local restaurants.
The way back from Zagreb takes the old road, going through Slunj and Rastoke, with its ancient mills on the falls of the Korana River. A look round the mills rounds off our journey, and we head back to Zagreb.
A visit to a hot springs resort
You can choose which spa to visit, because there are many of them indeed in the environs of Zagreb. The capital city itself, in fact, lies over thermal waters. Whichever you select, you're bound to make a good choise. Make your pick from Tuheljske, in the heart of gentle Zagorje, or Čateške in Slovenia, but more or less on the border, Varaždinske in its Baroque town, or Stubičke, in the town of historic peasant leader Matija Gubec.
As well as the termal waters and the always friendly hosts, there are many aquatic attractions. In the winter we can lay on skiing in the mornings, and after that revelling in massage and therapeutic treatments in some wellness centre.
